So... Recently, my friend and I have decided to write a book/short story!
We don't know the name, but we are very eager to start. We've written 400+ words already and I think it's turning out great!
Also, I opened a deviantart account : http://lissaswc33.deviantart.com/
and...
a tumbler: http://lissa334.tumblr.com/
That's about it :)

Winter 2011/ 2012 - Book Recommendations
So, a lot of the holidays have already passed and I've read many books.
Last time I made recommendations was August, so I'll have a ginormous list in this blog post. Therefore I'll be extra nice and separate these recoms by the month I've read them :)
From September to October....
I had this obsession with romances and read a lot from Sophie Jordan. All these books listed below are set in Victorian England. They all have more or less the same plot, however, I have a weakness for strong female characters and happy endings :)
1) Too Wicked to Tame
2) One Night With You
3) Once Upon A Wedding Night
4) Surrender to Me
5) Sins of a Wicked Duke (The Penwich School for Virtuous Girls #1)
6) In Scandal They Wed (The Penwich School for Virtuous Girls #2)
7) Wicked Nights With a Lover (The Penwich School for Virtuous Girls #3)
November...
Continuing my obsession with the romances, I started reading Lorraine Heath romances, including...
8) In Bed with the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James #1)
9) Between the Devil and Desire (Scoundrels of St. James #2)
10) Surrender to the Devil (Scoundrels of St. James #3)
11) Midnight Pleasures With a Scoundrel (Scoundrels of St. James #4)
12) Passions of a Wicked Earl (London's Greatest Lovers #1)
13) Pleasures of a Notorious Gentleman (London's Greatest Lovers #2)
14) Waking Up With the Duke (London's Greatest Lovers #3)
Then I was on goodreads (www.goodreads.com) and one of the suggested books I found was by this author called Gena Showalter. I soon got obsessed with her Lords of the Underworld Series:
15) The Darkest Night
16) The Darkest Kiss
17) The Darkest Pleasure
18) The Darkest Whisper
19) The Darkest Passion
20) The Darkest Lie
21) The Darkest Secret
22) The Darkest Surrender
23) The Darkest Prison
24) The Darkest Angel
25) The Darkest Fire
December - Early January....
I love Showalter's serie so much I decided to give her other series a try and they were pretty good too: 26) Playing With Fire (Tales of an Extraordinary Girl #1)
27) Twice as Hot (Tales of an Extraordinary Girl #2)
28) Intertwined (Intertwined #1)
29) Unraveled (Intertwined #2)
30) Twisted (Intertwined #3)
31) Heart of a Dragon (Atlantis #1)
32) Jewel of Atlantis (Atlantis #2)
33) The Nymph King (Atlantis #3)
34) The Vampire's Bride (Atlantis #4)
35) The Amazon's Curse (Atlantis #5)
Another book I read in December which I had been waiting for 6 years was...
36) Inheritance - Christopher Paolini
This is the only book I will actually write about (as the list is so enormous). Well, I'd like to start by saying kudos to Paolini for this book was very well worth the time. I loved the whole book in general, despite some very predictable things happening. I did however hate a certain event (which I shall not mention as it will spoil the story) and I thought I was incredibly lame*. I also thought the beginning was too slow paced and I did lose some interest at first. Not to mention the unsatisfying ending concerning Murtagh's character and his lack of appearance throughout the novel.
And also...
37) Clockwork Prince - Cassandra Clare
I actually have a collectors edition and read it in November, but I'll just add it here because it was only published on the 6th.
Don't forget...
38) Divergent - Veronica Roth
No way I can describe it. It was AMAZING.
For those who read in Portuguese...
I've recently read...
39) "O Cortiço" - Aluísio Azevedo
I really liked the book despite it being a class novel. It portrays the life in Brazil, however it does have a very prejudice point of view. Other than that, it had a very intriguing plot.
Aims in 2012
1) Read many books!! (about 25)
2) Look forward for the following books:
a) Bitterblue - KRISTIN CASHORE
b) City of Lost Souls - CASSANDRA CLARE
c) Clockwork Princess - CASSANDRA CLARE
d) Jessica Rules the Dark Side - BETH FANTASKEY
e) Endlessly - KIERSTEN WHITE
f) Hidden - SOPHIE JORDAN
g) The Golden Lily - RICHELLE MEAD
h) Shadow Heir - RICHELLE MEAD
i) The Darkest Seduction - GENA SHOWALTER
j) Lenobia's Vow - P.C. CAST
k) Insurgent - VERONICA ROTH
3) Write more on my blog :)
Suggestions
For those of you who love to read like I do, USE GOODREADS (www.goodreads.com)!!! It is really helpful to save the books you've read and look for more interesting options :) They also give you recoms based on the books you've already read.
That's all :) I'll try to write more :)

Bloodlines - Review
So, Im not sure everyone knows, but there is a spin off of the Vampire Academy series called Bloodlines, also by Richelle Mead.
THe main character is not Rose, but Sydney, the mysterious alchemist whom we barely know. Ive already read it and i cant say how much i loved it. Its basically about how Sydney, Adrian and Eddie help hide Jill in Palm Springs. Obviously there is a lot more to it, but i wont say much as i will end up spoiling it in my enthusiasm. Also, we get to know Sydney MUCH better and OMG, i just LOVED it and i cant stress this fact enough.! i hope you all try it out :)

More Book Recomendations!
Hey Guys!
its been an awfully long time since i last posted anything here. I have finally finished my IGCSEs and have just returned from my travelling vacation. Now, im home and having the urge of posting a new book recom. because, well, ive been reading and loving and wanting to share =)
anyways, on with what matters:
1) The Watcher Series - Lilith St. Crow.
Basically, these books are about these men called Watchers, who used to be normal humans, who then decided to become Watchers in a way to redeem themselves. They are sworn to protect witches, also known as Lightbringers, of the various Dark groups (such as the crusade and the brotherhood) no matter the cost. Of course, the watchers being creatures of the dark and the lightbringers people of the light, the watchers do not like having physical contact with these witches, as it hurts them.... with the exception of THEIR witch. Heres the site: http://www.lilithsaintcrow.com/journal/the-books/the-watcher-series/
2) Paranormalcy series - Kiersten White
Right now, there are two of them: Paranormalcy and Supernaturally.
They tell a story about a girl, Evie, who works for the IPCA ( an organization that controls paranormal creatures which prowl out in the open) but longs for a normal life. Evie is a special human because she can see through the glamours of the creatures. Soon enough, Evie's life is indeed changed, but not necessarily to normal. heres the site: http://www.kierstenwhite.com/paranormalcy_series
3)Mercy Falls Series - Maggie Stiefvater
the third book. Forever, just came out this summer. These books tell the tale of Sam and Grace and how the try to beat the impossible to be together. Oh! btw, Sam is a werewolf (not really, but i cant explain it any better) and Grace is just a human being, extremely attached to her wolf (aka sam). site: http://maggiestiefvater.com/novels/#wolves
4) Clockwork Angel - Cassandra Clare
For those of you who read the Mortal Instruments Series, you might want to keep an eye open for the Infernal Devices series too. I, for one, absolutely LOVED the book. Tessa Gray is a american girl lost in the city of London ( In England for those who dont know). Looking for her brother, Tessa finds more than she had bargained for. Meeting with the extremely charming Will and ever sweet Jem, and the rest of the Shadowhunters, Tessa's view upon the world has totally changed. If anyone does indeed read this book, please comment and tell me: Jace or Will?? site: http://theinfernaldevices.com/
5) The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
There really arent any words to describe this book. I hope you will fall in love with the characters as I have. But basically, this is the story of a place where there are 13 (now 12) districts run by a Capitol, which hosts a Hunger Game every year, where 2 people from each district are chosen (randomly) to fight each other... until they die, or are the last one standing. Written in Katniss' point of view, we see how awfully exciting this world it. Oh and btw, the film is coming out in 2012, so i suggest you read this SOON! =) sitee: http://www.thehungergames.co.uk/
6) Goddess Summoning Series - P.C Cast
different stories about different women who had trouble in their lives on the present day and were then transported, whether willingly or not, to a different time, to achieve the impossible. cant really say much about the series in general.. just that i enjoyed it a lot =) While at it, check P.C. Cast's other works, i enjoy her writing. http://www.pccast.net/
ARGH. There are just so many books which are so good. I hope these 6 recommendations will be enough for the rest of the holidays. If not, I might just make another

Stop! Listen to the Music
Hey Guys!
Today was a almost a whole day teaching my grandmother english, playing online stop and listening to music. Well, with today, i can conclude that:
1) My grandmother is a fast learner
2) The people who play online stop cheat a lot i mean, how do 8th graders know all the names of Brazil's Presidents (you have to have a school account to play this one?!
3) I need to upload more songs onto my ipod.

At the end of today, i am left with a 7 paged word document with extremely simple english; 4 lists from a to z of brazils presidents, collective nouns, body bones, countries and capitals and elements of the periodic table (if other kids cheat, why cant i?); and a head full of songs. hows that for relaxing holidays?
Apart from that i have some suggestions for songs, btw, they arent all very recent, but the old songs are the best.
from soundtracks:
tomorrow never comes (the rocker)
someone to fall back on (bandslam)
pop:
party in the USA (miley cyrus)
three (britney spears)
rock:
ignorance and another day (paramore)
remember december (demi lovato)
old songs:
anything from queen
anything from paramore
anything from phil collins
black or white (mj)
(cant think of any others)
Oh! i forgot!
Afterlife (avenged sevenfold)
This reminds me that just recently, Avenged Sevenfold Drummer, Jimmy "the rev" Sullivan died (RIP). I thought it would be nice if you could all hear some of avenged sevenfold's songs, including afterlife. I promise.. they rock!
Well, thats enough of me,
good night peeps,
Lissa (a.k.a. Xinezah)

Stuck at Home And Unhealthy Diets
Hey Guys!
You know what i just figured?? nowadays, kids who are stuck at home (such as me) spend more time facing a screen than not facing a screen. Like my typical day at home is like:
wake up at 11:00
have lunch
watch tv while having lunch
go onto the computer
play wii
think about taking my dog out for a walk an then deciding to play ds
play piano
play ping pong
listen to my ipod while reading
more computer
dinner
more tv
more computer
bed/sleep.
I think i made my point.. heehee.
Like all my friends are also addicted to vid games and computers.. like what happened to going out for a walk, or drawing, or reading, or going to the park and play some ball, etc?? Either we are getting lazier or technology is starting to take control of us....*eek*! thats a freaky thought!!
Another thing which annoys me a lot is the present diet. like, people start to blame mc donalds for making unhealthy food, but have you ever thought that youre the one choosing to eat there?! When youre complaining about the unhealthy snacks, why dont u order a salad instead of a big mac?! See my point?!? then people diet because of their diet.. althought dieting does work, its not particularly healthy. like totally cut the extra fat but dont cut the veggies or the meat!!! i mean, puh-lease!!! Have you tried BURNING the calories instead of dieting to AVOID them? sports are super healthy and will totally help you burn calories. sports will also help you socialize better and avoid screens (hmm.. my two points are now starting to join.. hmm)!!!
I guess i thought i needed to share this with ppl...
Oh! and bout my day today... I WAS NOT STUCK AT HOME!!! *yay* I actually went to play tennis and it was my dads bday!!! unfortunately i spent most of my day playing wii w. my cousin and my brother and we finally ended the game rock band (btw, ppl who are thinking bout buying rock band or guitar hero, go for gh!!! the songs are better and the notes are better... sorry rb, but ur not that good).
Gotta go,
bye peeps,
Lissa (a.k.a. Xinezah)

House Of Night Series
Hey Guys!
Recently I have been tired of reading the same books: Harry Potter, Eragon, The Golden Compass, Inkheart, etc. Luckily i found this series, which totally owns twilight.

At first when i read the blurb of the first book, Marked, i thought that it was going to be exactly like twilight and all those other vampire cheesy books, but this is NOTHING like that! The House Of Night Series is catchy, intriguing, sexy, new and hip. In other words.. TOTALLY AWESOME! Its about this girl Zoey Montgomery, who just wants to fit in. Her mother re married a man called John Heffer and ever since she has changed completely. The only person Zoey trusts is her Grandmother, Sylvia Redbird. One day at school, a tracker vampyre marks Zoey. She then goes to the only vampyre school in that area: The House Of Night. She gets to start a new life with a new name, new school and new habbts. There, she makes new friends but unfortunately, her wish of being normal is not happening. Zoey is the only third former fledging who has a filled in mark. She is already loathed by the most popular group: The Dark Daughters. How will she manage to fit in?
The series already has 6 published books. Hope you guys like it, I totally loved it!!! This is the website of the books if you are interested: http://www.houseofnightseries.com/
So thats all.. til the next time,
Lissa (a.k.a. Xinezah)
